Mane and tail whipping in the wind, Melody galloped next to Mercy easily. She seemed to float above the ground as she ran, taking large strides, her hooves pounding against the ground. She followed Mercy carefully, not wanting to get lost on an island she'd never been on before, especially by herself.
The rest of the island was much prettier than the strange looking volcano and Melody was glad for the change in scenary. She lifted her head, loving the feel of galloping as fast as she could with a stallion she'd just met.

The wind tugged cool fingers through his mane and tail, whipping them out behind them to unfurl, tangled and wild, as he galloped. The ground was firm beneath his hooves, a faint thud ringing out with each impact as his muscles contracted and relaxed, propelling him forward in a gallop as though this was what he was built to do. Beside him Melody flowed across the ground with fluid steps, her speed investing her with a wild beauty that he did not fail to notice even as he concentrated on seeking a direct path back to his home across the wilds of the island.
Gradually the ground grew flatter and softer than it had been at the volcano, lush grass springing up underfoot rather than rock and sparse alpine weeds. Soon, he knew, they would reach their destination. Sure enough, as he scanned the horizon he could already make out the shady trees that lined the shores of the lagoon and he slowed his pace slightly, no need to rush. Tossing his head up at the sheer enjoyment of racing along with another at his side, he looked to Melody.
"The lagoon is just up ahead," he told her, the breeze whipping away his words, "I'm sure you'll be at home here, if you want to stay."

Melody threw her head about, enjoying the feel of the wind pulling at her mane. She looked at mercy as he spoke to her, smiling at his words. She glanced back at the path ahead, spying the lagoon. She galloped a bit faster, eager to plunge her petite body into the cool water that the lagoon would hold. "I would love that," She replied, a smile playing on her lips. In her heart, she knew she'd made the right choice by coming with Mercy to his terra. She still felt a little aprehensive(sp?), but she had a strong feeling that the young stallion would protect her.
